Volunteers Rule!

We are blessed with an amazing group of individuals who support the children and staff at Silver Creek every single day.  They are our Classroom Volunteers (and one in the office---thank you, Claire! and Mary of Parent Room fame).  These volunteers are led by a Volunteer Coordinator (also a volunteer position), Sue DiBlasio.  Our volunteers all submit to a criminal reference check for serving vulnerable populations, and receive an orientation and some ongoing training by our staff.

We are super fortunate to have the following people give so generously of their time and talent:

Ginny; Kathy J; Mary; Michelle; Soon; Hannah; Margaret; Dora; Beth; Liz; Amy; Sue; Claire; Brenda; Kathy F; Virginia; Halima; Leona; Naomi; Karen; Mieke and Nancy.

As well our Board of Directors are all volunteers, making important decisions around the financial and forward movement of Silver Creek. We applaud: Gail Pennington, President; Colette Lafreniere-Pividori, Vice-President; Greg Chellew, Secretary; Laura Balbinot, Treasurer; Karen Anning; Lisa Wong Boivin; Liz Nolan; Joe Graci; Stephanie Sorensen; and Leslie Griesinger for their commitment to Silver Creek.

As it is Volunteer Appreciation in April please take a moment to say thank you to our Silver Creek Volunteers.  Their work makes our school stronger and brighter for  children and their families.

Testimonial

I have had the pleasure and privilege of having three of my children attend Silver Creek Pre-School.  When my autistic son started at Silver Creek, he had severe language delays and problems with transitioning from one activity to another.   Silver Creek welcomed him with open arms and created visual pictograms for my son to aid him with transitions.  This reduced his anxiety immensely and he felt safe, secure and loved by such dedicated staff.  He had access to excellent speech therapy and we saw a remarkable improvement with his expressive language.

My two hearing impaired daughters were placed in classrooms with excellent peer language role models to assist in their language and articulation development.  They received individualized programs to meet their needs.  Silver Creek prepared them well for mainstream kindergarten.

Thank you Silver Creek for all your dedication, love and individual attention.  We are forever grateful!
