Pre-School Transportation Program - One Week / All Children
A key element of our commitment to serve all children equitably is our pre-school transportation program, which we offer at a subsidized minimum cost to families. Every day 3 school buses, with properly tethered carseats, cover the areas from Lakeshore to Steeles Ave; west to the Mississauga border and East to Keele St., to bring over 60% of the children to Silver Creek and then home again. Without this service, children whose parents cannot drive, don’t own cars, or whose disabilities are so severe that public transit is simply too challenging, would not be able to attend Silver Creek.
This year the cost will be $125,000 to ensure these children can get to Silver Creek to receive the early learning/play environment where therapeutic services are integrated into their day.
Your gift of $90 pays for one week of transportation for a child. Your gift of $630 pays for a week of transportation for all of the children on the bus.

I have had the pleasure and privilege of having three of my children attend Silver Creek Pre-School. When my autistic son started at Silver Creek, he had severe language delays and problems with transitioning from one activity to another. Silver Creek welcomed him with open arms and created visual pictograms for my son to aid him with transitions. This reduced his anxiety immensely and he felt safe, secure and loved by such dedicated staff. He had access to excellent speech therapy and we saw a remarkable improvement with his expressive language.
My two hearing impaired daughters were placed in classrooms with excellent peer language role models to assist in their language and articulation development. They received individualized programs to meet their needs. Silver Creek prepared them well for mainstream kindergarten.
