We are always investing in our children’s educational and therapeutic needs. From programs, equipment, and technology to helping children access the school via transportation, there are many ways you can make a difference.
Silver Creek has been serving children with physical and developmental challenges since 1975 when local parents petitioned the provincial government for funding and support in starting a program to serve the pre-academic and therapeutic needs of their children. The school has grown from seven students in 1975 to more than 60 children being served annually. Government assistance is now provided by Toronto’s Children's Services through subsidies directly to qualifying families, and through...[read more]
The staff at Silver Creek have definitely exceeded my expectations in every way. They genuinely care about the children and work tirelessly every day for the benefit of the children. They also have a wealth of knowledge and have become my trusted advisors whenever I have questions or concerns about my child.
Since Xavier has been diagnosed with Sandhoff disease, my family’s lives have been turned upside down. It has been difficult for us to find a place for our family in the community. And then we found Silver Creek, it is like a second home to us. I would love the opportunity to give back to Silver Creek.

Silver Creek has given my son the tools that are necessary to succeed in school, and in life. Their patience and love have guided my son to develop in ways that words can’t describe. He is a confident individual who thrives on challenges and I thank Silver Creek for that. Actually, I thank all the members of Silver Creek for all they have done. It is truly a great place to be.
Silver Creek is a place like none other. Silver Creek allowed our confidence in our own abilities and decisions to be celebrated as Marasia’s world opened up in front our eyes. We are forever grateful for the exceptional staff at this very special place who make children (and their families) feel like superstars everyday.

The things I like about Silver Creek: 1. Playing on the computer 2. Playing dress-up with my friends 3. I like when the teachers read books to me 4. I also liked to spend time with Bill. He used to tell me jokes. They were very, very, very, very funny. 5. My favourite activity was listening to music

David flourished at Silver Creek and so did I. The staff became my friends and a great emotional support to me. They helped with equipment suggestions, sources of extra funding, and co-ordinating David’s school placement at Sunnyview P.S. Well, David moved on but I stayed. I have been on the Board of Directors since 1998, and President for the past 5 years. Silver Creek is a magical place!
Silver Creek offers one-on-one attention to all children that strives to bring out the very best in each child, regardless of what their needs are. By far, one of the best benefits of the program is the staff, who are loving and supportive and who go well beyond expectations on a daily basis.
The staff at Silver Creek are a very special group of professionals who I find care deeply for the children they work with while at the same time pushing them to excel and surpass expectations often placed on children with disabilities. Thank you, Silver Creek!
My son Aleksander currently attends Silver Creek. My only disappointment is that we didn’t discover Silver Creek sooner. The amount of love, kindness and support he has received has surpassed all my expectations. The staff and other children never fail to put a smile on both our faces. Every child and staff member will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Our workshop was well attended yesterday evening. The family therapist, Andrea Rawson, got everyone busy assembling a self-care kit to help them fight FOMO.
An “In case of FOMO emergency kit” with four things in it.
1- A flower: to stop to smell the flowers and take a deep breath. 2- A tea bag: to remember to do something that soothes you. 3- A Coffee crisp: to remember to take a coffee break. 4- Play dough: to remember to play with your child and focus on the most important things in your life.
What would you add to this emergency kit? Leave your comments below and let’s all fight FOMO together!
