In the Silver Creek classrooms--toddler and pre-school--we provide a creative, playful, and fun variety of multi-sensory activities to encourage learning. The work of children is play and it is easy to see that in our setting. We know that learning opportunities come from experiences and we provide some very unique opportunities for your children.
We employ a modified Emergent Curriculum to enhance children’s individual inquiry approach to play-based learning. Building upon the children’s interests and adding to those interests in order to encourage experiential learning is fun and exciting. It also takes involvement from the teachers and support staff to observe and engage the children, encouraging them to develop new skills by introducing early academic concepts, providing for self exploration, engaging in social situations and encouraging independence and self awareness. Children are provided with a tailored program that fits their ability level and learning style.
As many of our students have physical challenges, we make certain that play activities can be accessed by making modifications and accommodations to seating, play materials, positioning and the use of technology to support whatever the need might be. We embrace an interdisciplinary team approach in the classroom to make certain that all children are engaged in the activities.
We also have a new naturalized, accessible out-of-doors play space that will be used as an outdoor classroom. This space will open in late 2015 and we are very excited to experience the learning opportunities in all areas--math, science, mobility, sensory, music, art, and physical activity--that this new green space will provide.
We have seen tremendous gains in our daughter’s skills since she started at Silver Creek a year ago; her speech, mobility and play skills have really come along. The teachers and staff members at Silver Creek are dedicated to helping each child to reach their full potential and truly love what they do.

Since Xavier has been diagnosed with Sandhoff disease, my family’s lives have been turned upside down. It has been difficult for us to find a place for our family in the community. And then we found Silver Creek, it is like a second home to us. I would love the opportunity to give back to Silver Creek.
Thanks to the amazing support at Silver Creek, my daughter has been thriving in all areas. The team there is approachable, professional and incredibly committed. I am so grateful to be working with such a dedicated group of people who are passionate about helping my daughter achieve success.
The staff at Silver Creek are wonderful people and amazing at what they do. They are a great resource to have as well; very knowledgeable, willing and able to help us as parents through the complicated process of raising a child with special needs. Thank you Silver Creek

The staff at Silver Creek see the children as a ‘whole child’ i.e. well beyond any special needs that they might have, and see them as individuals with lots of strengths in different ways. For me, I have learned that the more work I can put into helping my child, the more she will be able to achieve her goals, and they can be small goals so we can celebrate success often. You are a very special group of people and you have definitely made a huge positive impact in our lives.
I am always in awe at the great variety and quality of the activities that your staff bring to the outdoor space. The range of activities and the attention to detail is quite a feat. Amazing really. Thank you for all that you do.

My husband and I are so grateful for the wonderful and exceptional team of teachers, therapists and volunteers at Silver Creek. It is inspirational and beautiful to witness daily the love, passion and dedication that they have for each and every child/student, and their professions. They are the very best!
The staff at Silver Creek have definitely exceeded my expectations in every way. They genuinely care about the children and work tirelessly every day for the benefit of the children. They also have a wealth of knowledge and have become my trusted advisors whenever I have questions or concerns about my child.
My two hearing impaired daughters were placed in classrooms with excellent peer language role models to assist in their language and articulation development. They received individualized programs to meet their needs. Silver Creek prepared them well for mainstream kindergarten. We are forever grateful.

Silver Creek has given my son the tools that are necessary to succeed in school, and in life. Their patience and love have guided my son to develop in ways that words can’t describe. He is a confident individual who thrives on challenges and I thank Silver Creek for that. Actually, I thank all the members of Silver Creek for all they have done. It is truly a great place to be.
